So since almost everyone in the running has decided to do this, I thought I'd share a few thoughts about moderating, and what I see for the website.
One of the things I believe in is consistency. Should I be elected, I will do my best to enforce the AUP evenly, whether a newbie or regular members. I am not intimidated by the number of posts to a person's name, nor will that stop me from taking the required action, however I will also give consideration to any extenuating circumstances.
I've also seen some people of differing views come in who wish to lecture us about the folly of our leftist ways, and that we should see the light and change. While I am open to debate from all viewpoints, I don't have much patience for that kind of thing. It's far more subtle, but I feel that kind of thing is just as disruptive to discussion as "&%$#! you, you ~&%$ socialists."
We've also lost people because of inappropriate things being posted in certain forums. Should I be elected, I will do what I can to look out for inappropriate postings and take prompt action when necessary. To that end, should I be elected, if I am online and anyone sees an infraction of the AUP, you can PM me about it and I will look into it right away. I am also willing to accept feedback about my moderating and about sensitive issues that arise.
ETA: If someone makes a broad-brush accusation against a particular segment of the community, I will ask for proof, and that the accusation not be repeated without said proof, under penalty of whatever sanctions are appropriate under the AUP.
I also believe it's time we had moderators who looked out for the whole province of Manitoba, and not just the City of Winnipeg!

I like it. At the moment, you've got my vote.
P.S.
Which category of Mod are you running for? |

Aristotleded24,
I'm really glad you've tossed your hat in the ring. I wil vote for you because I believe you will an excellent mod -- pure and simple.
Not sure how many people I can vote for (I'm in support of so many now!), but I know there are several already on my list... ohhhh the choices are hard~!!! _________________ ~ Rational ravings from a relative stranger in a troubled paradise. ~ |

I think we're using a graduated voting system, so you can vote for *all* of them... _________________ "The dignity of an animal is measured by his capacity to revolt in the face of oppression." -- Mikhail Bakunin |

| Having already said I'll do what I can, I'm still looking for work and trying to figure out where I'll be, I can't give any definite times as to when I will or won't be available. However, when I'm on (which will most likely be during weekends, for a large chunk) I'll do what I can. |
