Like the United States, EnMasse has elections to happen in 2012. The nominations for global moderator are officially open, and will remain so until 11:59PM Pacific Time on February 27th.

I happen to like the gravy boat, in fact I will only vote for those candidates who promise to extend and expand it! Razz

I'll not only vote for the candidate who promises to bring an end to all religious influence in our passionate atheist thread, but if they make good on that promise, I pledge to wash and dry their feet with my hair. It's a buzz cut, so whenever there's no need to hurry.

Seems all of my efforts aren't for naught after all. Down with the system!

Well, this system can stay actually...as I have a few more thoughts to let out about anti-politics I'm sure.

I know this is likely the result of still being relatively wet behind the ears in terms of the board, but is there a difference between global moderator, and say, an average everyday run of the mill moderator, or is it just title used to cover everyone identified as a moderator?

Back in the days of yore, when there was a lot of conflict (and a lot more posting) it was thought to be a good idea to have forum moderators as well as "global" moderators. But no special forum moderation is needed because practically no moderation is needed overall. The one really exciting thing we do a lot of is delete spambot registrations.

Get Steve to write a delete-bot.

Spam Bot vs. Delete Bot! May the better code win!!

Uh, not to automate you out of a job or anything. But when robots fight, we all win.

You're standing in the way of progress. Besides, someone will still have to maintain the delete-bot.

Very Happy

inspired by my mother, a woman who can apparently hold a grudge:

a few years ago she was lamenting complaining that customer service for her bank was all "in toronto" (strange, as frankly my bro/sis-in-law took care of all her banking). So i suggested she move her business to the local credit union. "oh, no" she replied, "they turned your dad and i down for a loan". really, ma? when was that exactly, 1952? Rolling Eyes

Well into the 90s, my grandfather wouldn't vote Conservative because Bennett had rolled back his wages when my grandfather was beginning his civil service career.

Wikipedia lists "Enmasse forums" in their list of organizations that use the Schulze method for breaking electoral ties.

Is Steve an electoral process wonk? It looks math-a-licious.

Been awhile since I voted for anything. It was exhilarating actually for the entire split second that it took. I almost begin to see what people get out of it in other circumstances.

If there is such a thing as a hierarchy that comes out of this, it would be kinda useful to know who to bow the lowest before.

The punctuation's OK, the problem is with capitalization.

The kids these days, with their text-message spelling; it's enough to give a gopher the heartburn.
