| I find this baffling. Why do people want to make up their kids like that? I see no benefit in it at all, and plenty on the down side. I really don't get it. Can someone explain it to me? Seems to me that parents who engage in this sort of thing should be put in prison Magoo style. |

I wish I could explain it, Cartman, but it's impossible for me. The child in that photo is the same age as my youngest daughter and I can't imagine doing such a thing to her.
Have you seen "Toddlers and Tiaras" on TLC? |

I'm very disappointed with Vogue. I realize some here might not expect much "progressivism" or sensitivity from a mere fashion magazine, but I did always like that they often featured people with progressive reputations or policies in their magazine photo shoots and interviews (over the years: Robin Wright, Susan Sarandon, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Pink - the last three queer icons as well as progressive people). Mind you, I've never bought "Vogue" but I always enjoyed reading it in doctors offices etc. I found it usually better than the male-oriented trash like "Maxim" or "FHM"). But this pic is just low and creepy. Maybe my friends who told me Vogue was an exploitative piece of garbage all along were right. _________________ I can't support bike lanes.
