“I am sincerely sorry and I sincerely apologize for the offensive nature of my actions,” Kuhn said in the statement. “I take full responsibility for my actions. The buck absolutely stops here.”
Kuhn, mayor of the city of about 11,000 people near the Oklahoma border, did not return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment Thursday. According to census figures from 2000, the city is about 87 percent white and nearly 5 percent black. |

The obviousness of that statement is rather hilarious. "I take full responsibility for dressing up in drag and blackface and parading around under an obscene stage name". Yep, I guess that's one you can't really blame on "gotcha" journalism. |

Am I to believe that this man has had an epiphany? That he had NO IDEA how offensive he was being, until some kindly observers explained it to him? What a crock. This guy should be dropped, in full blackface, in the middle of Harlem.

Seriously. I was surprised the bastard wasn't run out of town on a rail after the comments about being afraid to travel to Africa (pot, boiling water, dancing "savages", etc), especially after he had the utter temerity to blame it on his Hep C medication. My grandfather has Hep C and he never says that kind of stupid stuff. Then again, my grandfather isn't a closet bigot either.
