Washington Blade:

Quote:
Liberty Counsel and Parents & Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays [(PFOX)]have launched a new campaign called "Change is Possible," which mimics the effort by gay rights advocates to create student clubs and participate in school-sponsored "diversity days."

Instead of gay-straight alliances, the "Change is Possible" campaign urges students to start "Gay to Straight" clubs. (Emphasis mine.)
...
[T]he Liberty Counsel website details "health statistics" for ex-gay student activists such as: "Acting out on same-sex attractions also has devastating psychological effects, including increased drug and alcohol abuse."
...
"The reason PFOX got involved is because in Montgomery County we were denied equal access," said Regina Griggs, PFOX executive director. "We decided this doesn’t just exist in Montgomery County."

For Griggs, it’s an issue of tolerance.

"What parent wants to teach their children that tolerance for all people is not acceptable?" she said. "Teaching respect is key to all of this."

Err...what a shock that the 'phobes cannot glom onto the idea that it's not homosexuality that causes those 'health problems.' Homophobia does.

Let's hope the white supremacists don't hear about this and try to get clever. Coming soon to a school near you: The Student Anti-Miscegenation Club. Rolling Eyes

No, in keeping with the "Parents & Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays [(PFOX)]" theme, it would be Parents & Friends of Anti-Miscegenationists.

I realize this whole sham is a rip-off of PFLAG, but it is interesting that these lying dirtbags can't seem to scrape up a group of "ex-gays" to create a group, and instead are forced to rely on hateful, homophobing "parents and friends". What "friends"... Rolling Eyes

Why not just start the Junior Anti-Sex League and get it over with? Rolling Eyes
