I haven't called my dad yet, but will later in the day...
Typical conversation:
DD: Hi Dad! Happy Father's day!
Dad: Who is this? Oh, right... Diane. Thank you, dear.
DD: So, howzit going? Are you going to (DD's sister's place) for dinner?
Dad: Yes, to be fawned over and made much of! As is my due, of course...
DD: Of course, Dad. Of course.
Dad: So, you want to speak to your mother? Love you, dear! :hands phone to Mum:
DD: Tell Dad I love him, okay Mum?
Mum: Who is this?
Yup, I can pretty much script it. _________________ Scissors cuts paper. Paper covers rock. Rock crushes lizard. Lizard poisons Spock. Spock smashes scissors. Scissors decapitates lizard. Lizard eats paper. Paper disproves Spock. Spock vaporizes rock. And as it always has, rock crushes scissors. |

I called my father earlier on, but I haven't called my grandpa yet. I'll do that later on, since he and my grandma are fond of a late lunch. _________________ "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." - Thomas Jefferson |

| My father's father passed away this past week. There was no real warning beyond his being 88, and his wife, my grandmother, having passed away last year. With my uncle's help, he was still living at home. He was a good man. |

I'm sorry for you loss Corey.
ETA: I did call both my father-in-laws. My own father passed away in 1997. _________________ “If my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a tractor.”

I'm sorry Corey. One of my grandparents died before I was born, but the other three are still alive. I don't know how I will deal with losing any of them. _________________ "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." - Thomas Jefferson |

I am sorry for your loss Corey. Death is a difficult thing to deal with. I lost both of my parents in the mid 1990s, but I still have my stepfather and he has been a wonderful influence upon me. And, he loves my labs because they chase after sticks he throws in the river while his dogs just stare at them. |
