PC 27, Lib 27, NDP 1
The lone NDPer, Stephane Doiron from Caraquet, will give his support (and thus, government) to whichever of the two parties agrees to open/re-open/maintain the hospital in Caraquet. _________________ Harry, I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Bye, bye Bernie. It was not nice knowing you.
So the Liberals won a majority by about 5 seats, eh! |

According to final results it was a three seat majority for the Libs. _________________ "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." - Thomas Jefferson |

I called it correctly on Sept 14. Happy to see Fowlie, Malley and Green go down to defeat. |

Wow. Now that is what a I call a cursory press release. No "amicable parting," no "seeking other opportunities," and no "we wish her well in her future endeavours." There must have been some seriously bitter stuff going down at the NBNDP. _________________ "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." - Thomas Jefferson |

| She was the worst NB NDP leader in my memory. Enough to make a guy want to join the Liberals. |

I agree, but in my memory, I only remember Elizabeth Weir as NB NDP leader |

George Little did a good job as well. If you get a chance to meet Bob Hall who lives in Port Elgin you should grab it. I had lunch with him a few times at the University Club. Consummate gentleman and first NDP MLA in NB.
I think the next NDP leader will be a francophone. |

fwiw, the version of the announcement up currently (link is a pdf), dated November 7, begins
| The NB NDP wrote: | | The New Democratic Party of New Brunswick wishes to acknowledge the effort and commitment demonstrated by Allison Brewer. "Allison stepped up to the challenge of leading our Party at a time of major transition. The snap election this Fall only added to that challenge," said Pat Hanratty, Party President and now acting Interim Leader. "We wish Allison all the best, and thank her for her commitment and courage." |
I don't think too much should be read into the delay; I'm sure the NB NDP gets by with a very very small paid staff. |
