I keep expecting to see skepticool back. I thought he was just suspended?
I remember vaguely what happened and didn't think it merited a banning? |

I'm sure one of the moderators will make the situation clear to you, but here is why I saw:
Skeptikool had a history of snide remarks stopping just short of personal attacks, and of a history of accusing everyone else on the board of deliberately ignoring topics he started in a concerted effort to bury environmental concerns. He received a number of warnings and suspensions, following the progressive discipline policy laid out in the Acceptable Use Policy. In the days leading up to his banning, he became substantially more aggressive, and crossed the line into belicose personal attacks on other members, in violation of the AUP. He was given a couple chances to calm down, but did not, essentially accusing all and sundry of being part of a conspiracy to keep his voice suppressed and to slander him. He was, at this point both way over the line of AUP violations and at the end of the progressive discipline policy. The moderators acted as required to by the AUP and banned him.
I don't understand why he should be accorded any more chances than anyone else posting here. If I engaged in his type of antics, I would hope to be dealt with as leniently as he was for so long. _________________ "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." - Thomas Jefferson |

His actions and behaviour seem to stem from frustration, not unlike Robert Dziekanski's. Luckily moderators don't have Tasers |
