Guidelines for the FF
1. No defining women's realities for them.
2. Pay respect to and think about women's voices before you speak.
3. Take the time to educate yourself on a few very basic feminist principles, particularly regarding social inequality, before you ask us to explain them.
4. Be respectful of all people who identify as women, regardless of birth gender, and ensure that all voices are heard in discussion.
5. Be able to disagree, but respectfully disagree, without putting down or insulting women in the forum.
6. Post about men's rights elsewhere (and feel free to start your own forum if you want).
7. We'll be trying women-only threads on a trial basis for 30 days. [This period ended a while ago, so from now on ... {Tehanu}] Women-only is indicated by WO in the thread title. It means that men are requested not to post to that particular topic. All posters are welcome to start parallel threads dealing with the topics introduced in WO threads.
WO threads will respect the Board-wide interdiction regarding sexist, heterosexist, or transphobic language. Anything offensive posted in a WO thread should be immediately brought to the attention of the Moderators.
If a man posts in a WO thread, the mods will remind him that it's WO and ask that he remove his post to a parallel thread.
We hope that this trial period will help us make an informed decision about how to deal with repeated infractions in WO threads, so for now we will not be suspending anyone. That policy is not permanent, and is up for discussion once we see how things have been going.

An overall guideline for the ff is to discuss issues of interest to feminists from a pro-feminism point of view.
I have archived the original thread, because it was very long and it was ultimately locked.
I have opened a separate thread for questions and discussion about the guidelines. |
